Here’s the solution for those who’s mic’s are still not working in cs2 but work fine for other applications like discord etc. I had the exact same issue as OP. I downloaded an app called “Peace” equalizer, raised my mic volume quite a bit and now it’s working fine. In the sound control panel, go to the "recording" tab and open the properties of your microphone, click the "levels" tab and ensure it is both set to max volume and unmuted.
