I've learned that when that happens if I take the key out, try to remote start it , i hear the click/ lights flash (it doesn't remote start and hasn't for awhile). Then I push the unlock button, put the key in the ignition and turn it and the SUV starts. Every single time.

the fiilling up/hard start issue is related to overfilling. Over time it causes issues with the valve. I believe there are 2 valves--- one is on top of the gas tank- the 2nd is close to the engine. Usually changing the one by the engine will correct the issue. Someone has pics of their valve replacement on here.

What surprised me each time was that 99.99% of my starts consist of a single (brief) turn & release of the key.
