They stated that you need to season your seals when you switch to synthetic. They would change their oil, use 1 quart AMSOIL and regular oil for the rest. Ride it for so many miles, then change the oil again, say 2 quarts AMSOIL and etc. They would do this until the use nothing but AMSOIL.

It can be a little messy, but I change the filter again at the half way point in the Fall. I ride year round here in Arizona, so I'm not concerned about it sitting over the Winter.
