Costco has a Kirkland labeled Islay at 50% that I can't find anywhere anymore probably because I, and all of my buds, never turned down an opportunity to pick up a bottle when spotted. That stuff would be exactly what you are looking for. Caol Ila with a bit of Ardbeg character at a great price $40 for 1L, if I remember correctly.

The 12 Year Blended and NAS Blended Scotches are good to keep around, both worth the money. The Triple Distilled Vodka is on par with a Grey Goose (it may be GG) and I like it for Martinis.
