Being relatively new to 762 rifles I went to the range with 5 different boxes of ammo.A adjustable gas block is the best way to control gas and recoil for your rifle. You can use different buffer weights and springs to control recoil too but the adjustable gas block is the best way. Basically, the KS47 uppers are wider to allow for AK mags to fit. In order to make a standard upper work, you would need to add material to it. This can be done be welding aluminum to a standard upper, and then machining it for KS47 specs.
