This is most likely because the 20S1 wad was designed as a 1 oz wad with a secondary usage for 7/8 oz loads. A dedicated 7/8 oz wad would be a little longer and would eliminate the dished crimp. I want to load #4 buck in a 20 g using a load calling for a SP20 with petals removed.Now do I cut down to the end of the slit in the wad or all the way to base of wad? Leave the shot cup, cut to the end of the slits. Such that the equator of the shot is above the remaining petals.

The RXP20 shot cup depth is 7/8" with smooth petals and the SP20 is 1" with stitched petals and ribs.
