This paper examines the extent of vulnerability across Asian equity markets and the United States (US) equity market by distinguishing between spillovers and contagion. Asian equity markets in 2001, it appears likely that both China and EM ex-China could be viable indices and attract investment flows, as long as their underlying fundamentals remain robust.
