Unbolt the solenoid. Wiggle / pull out the old solenoid. Install the new solenoid in the reverse order above. Install the filter and o-ring. Install the pan with gasket. Refill the trans with new ATF. Run for a few minutes at idle and check the fkuid level. The solenoid may not be bad. It does have a hard 1 - 2 shift usually only the first shift of the day and occasionally (rarely) after warm up which is still present. There is now 23,000 miles on it and still no shudder.
