In standard US sizing, 36H is designed for a 44" bust (8" difference) and 36I is designed for a 45" bust (9" difference). 14 Sept 2020 ... It's likely the ABTF calculator would've given you a much different bra size than you expected before your reduction! Probably several cup sizes ... The ABTF calculator is not all-seeing, and it can be off by a cup size or two (rarely more, though it's not impossible--see here for reasons why calculator may overestimate). Even then, you cannot expect every bra in 40I US / 40G UK to be a perfect fit. But the ABTF calc does get you way close than any other calculator! Instead of reposting the whole thing, I'm going to link to our correction thread from ABTF. That way you can also see what corrections have already been made.
