Directly pipe the steam to the turbine and enjoy the power. If it's big, then I would recommend to ditch the water and use sodium, pipe the heated sodium into a Thermoelectric boiler, then pipe the steam to the turbine. Make sure you can pipe the water from the turbine back into the boiler (If you built the turbine for that.

For now, the only available moderators are graphite and beryllium, and they both have the same effect in the reactor core, but there are plans to add more moderators and give them unique stats and possibly even placement rules. The heat can't be extracted and the only function it has is to make your reactor explode if it gets too hot. The molten salt fission reactors, on the other hand, create steam that can be used in any kind of steam-powered generator. I don't know if you can transfer the nuclearcraft heat to other mods, though - just the steam.

For the reactors themselves, both fusion reactors require I think millions of RF to start, but the fission reactor from nuclearcraft does not. I think that's the best place to start because its fuel requires a lot less outside processing unlike mekanism, and also I don't know much about nuclearcraft's fusion reactor.
