Disheartened ORM CA applicant. 😱 SAD. I’m feeling so frustrated and disappointed. I applied to 48 schools (46 MD, 2 DO) and was complete in July/August for most of them. I only got ONE ii from an MD school, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to turn into an acceptance. I have a few pre-ii holds and rejections, but mostly radio silence.

Not sure why this sub is confused about this term. ORMs are simply minority groups that are considered “overrepresented” in b schools relative to their overall population in the US. This means Asians, specifically South and East Asians. thank you all for the congrats! and i get where you all are coming from! and i do believe many schools are trying to expand their understandings of diversity outside of race and should continue to do so. please remember that the ORM term exists in med school process because there are soooo many more ORMs applying in the application cycle, 
3.3 GPA, 511 MCAT, ORM. No SMP or post bac, but I did do a master’s in the basic sciences and had a 3.9 GPA there. Currently 5 II, 1 A, 1 WL, and still waiting on the other 3 all for MD schools. I did go to a higher ranking undergrad and multiple of my interviewers said adcoms take that into account when looking at undergrad GPAs.
