I've tried to replicate the problem by pressing the brake or clutch in different sequences, radio on/off, lights, etc., but there's no pattern. Cold start in the morning, all day driving, driving 5 miles or 50, it doesn't matter, it still does it. It's very random. Fuel pump spins every time and related fuses are okay.
