2013 impala lt odd noise. ok driving noise under hood sounds like a whop whop but not real loud and changes with RPM not speed. So it has to be coming from engine. It sounds like something out of balance and at first thought it was wheel bearing but changes and goes away with RPM not speed so not a wheel bearing.

Its kind of like a poping creeking sound on take off only. Sounds like the card int the bike spoke thing just very slight. Like something is sliding over a piece of the steering wheel.Adding a anti vibration unit to the other side of the exhaust will help. The Impala /caprice have it on one side and the caddies have one on each side. Last is add insulation to the floor. At HD you can get a roll of frost king insulation in the furnace department. It's 1/8 inch foil backed foam with a sticky side.To find out which actuator is bad, open the glove box all the way, you have to open it past the stops. You can then see the right temp actuator near the center of the dash and the recirculation actuator near the end of the dash. The noise resembles a click with a thump followed by a trickling, shutter or flapping noise like a flap or valve is bouncing around after each click. The noise completely stops after about the 3rd click unless I restart the car or turn the AC on and off. Regardless, the air flow/strength and temperature seem unaltered. I'm sort of confused.
