I use the thinkorswim app, not the TD Ameritrade app. I would recommend you use the thinkorswim app. One thing that people do not know about the thinkorswim app is that you do not need 4G wireless to use it. I use only 2G wireless and I have no problem getting live level 2 and live quotes. I have never had a problem with getting an order filled.
