If I had to guess I'd say the Legendary lost sector drop rate is around 10% and master is around 20% to 25%. Last seasons lost sector exotics are now in the general exotic pool. So, you are correct, you can get the gloves from a random drop. For example, I got Necrotic Gloves from the nightfall last night.
I don't know what that dude was talking about. Drop rates on the lost sectors at both levels seems like it's way lower than last. Last season I could get an exotic drop every 4-5 runs. This season I've gotten 2 drops in about 5 total hours (probably ~20 runs). Possibly just bad RNG but it definitely seems like lower RNG this season.I played a master lost sector the other day. If a lost sector is going to take longer than 10 minutes, it's not worth doing. I barely bother with any sectors that take me longer than 5 minutes. The drop rate for exotics in masters is ~35% and it's ~25% in legendary sectors. That means that on average you'll get an exotic every 3-5 runs.
Legend is 1250, master is 1280. If you get an exotic drop from thr 1250, you will get an exotic you do not have over one you do. Other than that it's just restricted to that slot.
