Jun 21, 2018 at 6:18 PM. I’m 39 weeks +1 day pregnant and I had a membrane sweep done yesterday at 4pm. I was 4cm dilated and 70% effaced when my Midwife did the sweep. I felt lots of cramps pretty quickly, and a few hours later I was having irregular contractions.

It sounds like you lost your mucous plug, and possibly bloody show. That's pretty common after a sweep. Some spotting is normal and expected from a sweep, but call your ob if you're concerned. Best to see midwife for reassurance, sounds like you are very close. Good luck!! I am 35 weeks currently with no.2 and hope to avoid sweeps this time round!
