The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. At one time I thought Kimber was the top of the food chain, I really did have pride of ownership with them!Take the rear sight off to take out the pin plunger. 2. Take off (or grind down if you choose to) the pin safety disconnector off of the sear axle in the frame. This should do it. Also, I think series II kimbers have series 70 firing pins and extractors in them already. Since the series II system is very different from the series 80 colt system ...The damage is such that it's not safe to fire as a .45 but the effected parts aren't involved in the Conversion Kit's use of the frame. The original slide may grow a frame someday. (Colt magnafluxed the parts for me before giving up. It's totally safe as a .22, and the slide should be fine.) Regards, Stu.
