Lich is absolutely awesome, if you like the dark theme. Just a note, if you wanted to play lich as a somewhat neutral-ish if not good-ish, the ends-justify-the-means type, that'll be impossible past a certain story point. You'll end up capital-E-evil. That being said, melee is definitely stronger in WotR for various reasons, but full caster merged spellbook Lich is still strong enough to clear unfair difficulty.
