The SP wad is usually used in high velocity loadings. The RP is used for low velocity 1 1/4 oz and up to 1 1/2 oz loads in 2 3/4 hulls. There are a few 3 inch loads that use the SP for 1 1/2 loads. Actually, most of the guys that load 7/8 oz seem to like the Downrange 20 gauge wad the best, and many think International is not a good powder for 20 gauge, especially for 7/8 oz loads, and even more especially when using gauge reducing tubes.
