Not sure you can or are willing to do something like that, but that's your only option that I know of for tank replacements. I have a tour tank mentioned above.

Well, you still need a petcock and you already have a fuel fiilter. The strainer is there to catch any bigger debrees. As far as a fuel gauge, there is no simple way to put one on a Shadow because of the design of the fuel tank.
