If you are not racing and just want to use the 5.3 as a daily driver, that 95 trans should hold. I have a 5.3 with a 1997 4L60e as daily driver and have put 10k miles since the swap. U have to get the adapter for the flexplate and longer bolts. Also install a corvette servo and it helps the trans as well as a trans cooler and u should be fine.I have a 1990 K1500. It currently has a SM465. I'm planning on dropping in a 5.3 out of a 99 Silverado to replace the current carbed mild-built sbc. Honestly, if you are a Facebook user, there's a great OBS LS swap group on there with tons of great info. For headers look at the Schoenfeld LS swap headers (PN# 1302LS1). They fit the best on OBS LS swaps in 2WD. Do NOT use the Speed Engineering headers, they say they work but they don't really on the 2WD, only the 4WD.

The NV4500 is also a hair longer than the nv3500 and you will either need to cut and paste your existing driveshafts or get driveshafts from a similar year/model from a gmt400.
