the only way I know to fix this is to download and use the mod that lets you spawn "any item". Correct, had to use Spawn Any Item (NexusMods) to get it. Its easy enough to do. Basically ive completed the 3 trials and got the 3 gems and killed yurgir and got the 4th gem however when I try to access the elevator to where I can get to the nightsong the first altar asks me for gems which I put in and it lets me travel down to the 2nd level doorway to get to the nightsong.
